What is Relaxation Massage?

A relaxation massage is a general full body massage that includes massage of the back, legs, neck, arms and head with either gentle or firm pressure to relieve physical tension and stress.

There is less emphasis on working out specific knots and eliminating the associated mild discomfort and a greater emphasis on relieving stress.

The Massage Itself

A relaxation massage is a full body massage employing Swedish massage techniques and slower, smoother movements. It can last from 30 to 90 minutes and is less focused on releasing specific tension areas or deeper muscle groups and more towards promoting calmness and well being.

Benefits of Relaxation Massage

The primary benefit of relaxation Massage is to relieve physical stress and muscle tension. Like other forms of massage it will also increase circulation of blood and stimulate the lymphatic system. This improves the health of cells and tissues by promoting the flow of oxygen and nutrients while simultaneously aiding in the removal of cellular wastes and toxins.
